Monica Barnett

In her current role as Board Liaison, Monica ensures seamless communication between Waverley Street Foundation's Board and operational team.

Monica is a seasoned public affairs professional with extensive experience in legislative support, political strategy, and community engagement. Over her career, she has played key roles in shaping impactful policies and managing complex public affairs initiatives. Prior to joining Waverley, Monica served as District Director for California State Assembly member Matt Haney, managing the district office, leading outreach initiatives, and coordinating constituent services.

Monica holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from UCLA. Monica is a mom of two, an avid runner, and enjoys reading, road trips, hiking, and discovering new restaurants. She is passionate about volunteering in the civic space and aspires to become an award-winning backyard gardener.
